Synthesis of heterometallic Bi-Mn cluster and its characterization

The perovskite manganites, AMnO3, are attractive family of magnetic oxides which exhibit a wide range of structures and magnetic/electrical properties depending on heterometal ion, A. Especially, Bi-based perovskite has garnered more attention due to multiferroicity; such material possesses magnetic and ferroelectric ordering simultaneously. In recent, molecular analogue of the perovskite repeating unit, [Ce3Mn8O8(O2CPh)18(HO2CPh)2], had been reported in our group, which motivated to explore the synthesis of new Bi-Mn cluster. A new heterometallic Bi-Mn cluster was synthesized using a comproportionation reaction and magnetic studies were performed.
